NOTICEABLY BETTER

Our Story

Solarus, formerly known as Wood County Telephone Company, has been a trusted provider of telephone service since 1896. Our unwavering dedication to delivering innovative communication solutions fueled substantial growth but also led us to become the area’s exclusive fiber optic Internet service provider. Today, we proudly serve approximately 16,500 customers, making us the largest independent telecommunications company in the state. We firmly believe that providing reliable and affordable high-speed Internet is essential for the economic development and long-term prosperity of the rural communities we serve.

Our extensive service portfolio includes high-speed Internet, wireless broadband, phone, TV, monitoring, and home automation solutions for both residential and business customers. These services are backed by round-the-clock technical support from our on-site Technical Assistance Center. Our customers attribute their satisfaction to the exceptional quality and reliability of our services.

Our team is comprised of 110 professionals dedicated to delivering a Noticeably Better experience. Solarus is proudly owned by over 850 local stockholders, all of whom are also our customers. We are deeply committed to giving back to area schools, organizations, and community initiatives that align with our mission of making our service areas exceptional places to live, work, and conduct business.
